Geneva offers several Online Degree Programs, which are designed to offer a flexible experience for working adults looking to complete their bachelor's degree. One of these programs is the Child and Family Services Program.
Scriptures address the topic of family saying that both parents and children need to treat their family with love and kindness (Ex. 20, Eph. 5). One’s family ought to be a place of love and support, however, in our fallen world, many families struggle with broken relationships for a variety of reasons. Geneva’s Bachelor of Professional Studies in Child and Family Services focuses on current social systems and the policies that impact the welfare of children and families helping to restore relationships from many forms of family dysfunction. If you want to make a positive impact on family relationships, maybe the Child and Family Services Program is right for you.
To complete this program students must complete a total of 120 credits, consisting of 36 major credits, 18 core credits, and 66 elective credits, but if you are transferring from another institution, you may be able to apply up to 84 credits to the core and elective credit requirements. Students can also pair this major with a minor in: Human Resources, Management, Organizational Leadership, or Psychology. By adding one of these minors, the student enhances their marketability to a prospective employer. This program is conducted fully online to increase its accessibility for students who need more flexibility than what can be offered with an in-person program.
All of the courses within this program are taught by experts in the field who can provide practical insight into the course material. Some of the major courses in the program include “The Family System in Context,” “Child and Adolescent Development,” and “Human Diversity.” The coursework for this program will prepare you to engage in the professional landscape of social services. You will be equipped to make a positive difference in the lives of those in your community.
A degree in Child and Family Services can open to door to a variety of career opportunities. Whether you are interested in working in a sector of business, government, nonprofit, social services, healthcare, or education, this degree program will set you up for successful engagement in your position.
